I've lived in Carpinteria, California (on the central coast of California) for the past 14 years with my husband and love it here. I couldn't imagine not living close to the ocean/beach. The weather is never too cold or too hot.

We're also lucky to have a Harbor Seal Rookery within our community that is protected. Each year momma Harbor Seals come to the same beach to give birth and rear their pups for 6 months. It's fun to go to the bluffs that overlook the beach and see the mommies with their babies on the beach below.Captivated Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15789205839634527219noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457480930454799813.post-56183694894792417252012-04-09T12:17:03.482-07:002012-04-09T12:17:03.482-07:00Thank you both for your provocative comments. But like Kristan, I believe there's something at the core of us that yearns to be near the water. Maybe someday I'll find out what it's like to live on the ocean. I think I'd love it.Juliann Wetzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14344339073916326002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457480930454799813.post-8776240366876427822012-04-08T10:50:56.819-07:002012-04-08T10:50:56.819-07:00I would love to live by/on water. And the fact that so many people feel that way makes me wonder if it's not part of our core.Kristanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04771013578685419826noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457480930454799813.post-67512015830556395742012-04-07T08:34:08.050-07:002012-04-07T08:34:08.050-07:00So beautiful! And as much as I love going to sleep by the sound of crashing waves, I feel most at home among trees.
Catherine DentonCatherine Dentonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13771249741266703689noreply@blogger.com
