I was so glad I'd captured the insanity of the drive down because we might have forgotten. She sang "Happy Birthday to..." every single thing she could think of. I think she sang the song a hundred times on our drive. We all laughed as I read the journal aloud and we remembered. Good times.Juliann Wetzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14344339073916326002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457480930454799813.post-46928989324239426452012-03-24T19:18:16.528-07:002012-03-24T19:18:16.528-07:00I have been writing in a journal since 1996/97 bec...I have been writing in a journal since 1996/97 because I have just too darn much going on in my head. Even if there isn't much happening in my mind, I'll write that down - and then end up writing about 3 pages by accident. Oops! ;)
Anyway, when I travel, I buy a travel journal. It's a lot of fun to use them. In recent years, I have gotten myself a good one to use at the same holiday destination more than once... all I do is skip two pages and I'm in the next holiday. Pretty good, eh? Mum thought I was being silly until she read the travel journal and thought to try and keep one as well, but she couldn't think of anything to say. I started her off and asked her what the morning felt like - the sun, the sound of the waves and the colour of the river water at low tide. She got writing quickly. However, it only lasted two days. Pity she can't concentrate for long periods.

I took up travel journalling when I traveled to the UK... there was so much going on, I took notes on a notepad, then tranferred the notes over in details into a travel journal each night. I glued in booklets of where we went and pubs we visited. By the time I returned home, I could read it again and be back on my trip in the UK anytime I wanted. Mum even read it and loved it too. This is how I came to writing in a journal most days while on holidays; and still do.Mozettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16267731815392625679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5457480930454799813.post-21491194871550528882012-03-24T09:07:16.039-07:002012-03-24T09:07:16.039-07:00That is such a wonderful thing to do together. Just today my mom talked about writing some things down for me -- her thoughts and memories from her life before me -- and I thought about how great it would be to have her thoughts to read. :)Kristanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04771013578685419826noreply@blogger.com
